Andrew Mowles is an experienced Programme Manager and Chartered Mechanical Engineer. In June 2021, Andrew began working for Queens University, Belfast as the Operations Manager on the EPSRC Programme Grant on “Re-Imagining Engineering Design” (EP/V007335/1) working with the Universities of Loughborough and York and supported by ten leading engineering companies across sectors.
Andrew began his career as a sponsored Undergraduate Apprentice with Rolls-Royce in 1981 and graduated from the University of Liverpool with a Bachelor of Engineering (hons) in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. He worked for Rolls-Royce for a total of 39 years in the aerospace sector in a wide variety of engineering and management roles. In the last 5 years with Rolls-Royce he worked on Future Programmes and Technology Demonstrators. He is skilled in Project and Programme Management, Estimation, Systems Engineering, Product Development, Engineering Management and Supply Chain engagement. He also has an MSc with Distinction in Project Management from the University of Manchester and was awarded the Steven Warne Award for Best in Cohort in 2009 and he is also an Associate Member of the Association for Project Management.
